The Society for Ethnomusicology is pleased to announce several new and revised awards for travel to its Annual Meeting and for Research & Publication. The Society offers this additional funding support as part of the implementation of its 2017-2022 Strategic Plan, which includes such goals as “Increase Access to and Participation in the SEM Annual Meeting” and “Increase Diversity and Inclusivity of SEM Membership.” Members of the Society are strongly encouraged to apply for any awards for which they are eligible and to disseminate this announcement to colleagues. The application deadline for all of the below awards for 2018 in July 2.

This increase in SEM awards is made possible by the generosity of donors to the Sound Future Campaign and by investment returns from the Society’s endowment. SEM greatly appreciates the more than 300 individuals who have contributed to this campaign in our effort to expand participation in the Society’s programs and the field of ethnomusicology!
